One MONTH OLD

These are the closest pictures that I have of Jayci being one month old. She was wide away and loving on her sister so I snapped a few good ones. I LOVE MY GIRLS!!! I thought having two would do me in. Well I was right. I feel RUSHED all the time. I am late to everything (which is my own worst pet peeve) and I can't remembered when the last time I went to the bathroom was (not literally). But it's getting better. I have offically made it on time to something and was SOOO proud of myself. I had to get up at six in the morning to get it accomplished but it was done. Being a mom is both the most rewarding and exhausting job I have ever had in my life! (Kenna-I know! Don't make fun... I can't even imagine having three. I guess that is why we wait three years between kids so I can get a grip on life with ONE AT A TIME!)

A Napping House

December 28, 2009 is a day to take down for our history!I know this is random but it needs to go down in the books. Ellie and Jayci are BOTH napping. I know this shouldn't be a shock but to me it's a BIG one! Ellie gave up naps when she was 22 months old. Here she is almost 38 months and is napping with her sister. Mind you, I get a FEW (big on FEW) 10 minute naps in the car but this is a big one. They have both been sleeping in their beds for ONE HOUR now. I think I need to force an hour nap on her at LEAST 3 times a week because this is HEAVEN!

BIG HELPER!!! She insists on changing at least one diaper a day. I love that she wants to help all the time. Thank goodness for three years apart and one old enough to think it's FUN to help! Gotta LOVE IT!

Darrington Christmas Party

Did I mention that I have a super hero as a daughter. Well for christmas Ellie got a super girl cape and necklace. As soon as she saw what it was she dressed up and started chanting SUPER GIRL To the RESCUE... She ran around with her cape did a little dance and then did a bow and said Thank you thank you. All in the audience of the ENTIRE family. I sure love this little girl. She has the BIGGEST personality in her body and LOVES to entertain. Thanks Tregan and family for the cape. I have a "SUPER HELPER" at my house everyday... I LOVE IT!

Notice: No Jayci Again. Can I help that the little one SLEEPS all the time... AHHHH

Christmas Afternoon

GreatGandG came over to visit with us since Val and Teresa were over seeing what the girls got. We had a fun afternoon with them playing the Wii. Even Great Grandpa got into and was pretty good.

Christmas Morning

Santa came to town and wouldn't you know it, he brought Ellie a FIRE TRUCK!!! She was sooooo excited. She woke up around 8:30 came into our room and with an OVER EXCITED whisper to her dad said "Santa CAME and brought me a fire truck... Why did he come when I was sleeping?" and then Layne got up with her and she couldn't wait to get her hands all over her presents. It's funny how Layne and I have different points of view on how Santa "SHOULD" come. I opted to not wrap the presents so Ellie could have something to play with while we slept. But Layne thinks it takes away the surprise. I guess next year we'll see who Santa is going to be won't we!



Notice there are no pictures of Jayci... Am I a horrible Mother. First of all she was sleeping and second of all I was to occupied when she woke up to remember to take a picture. There is always next year right?!

Christmas Eve

As always for Christmas Eve we head over to Layne's Mom and Dad's to open presents and play games. When we got there we ate then then Ellie INSISTED that we open presents. She made out like a bandit with Princess PJ's. Which she loves and keeps her warm. We are more then willing to take any cloths we can get for her cause she keeps growing like a weed. I cannot keep ANYTHING on her before she grows out of it. Jayci also made a haul and got the CUTEST piggy bank and what's a piggy bank with out any money! Layne and I got a Wii for christmas and they got us mario kart which we wanted and will play all the time. Thanks Nana and Papa for the Christmas presents. After opening presents we spent a few hours playing the Wii. I think Dad liked it so much we might get him one for his birthday. (He has been over to our house a few times since just so he can bowl... He's always wanting to beat somebody!)

Christmas Eve Morning

I was just taking some random pictures of the girls. Ellie was just having fun sitting next to Jayci and watching her. I cannot believe how much they grow up over night when you bring a little one home. She just wants every one to see "HER BABY" and see how "tiny and cute" she is. Jayci is so lucky to have Ellie as a big sister!

Denton's Christmas Giveaway

Denton's GiveAway. We always have a party at Denton's to get "TREASURES" that he gathered at all his meetings. It's always fun to see what he has brought home and the kids love it. This year they had even a extra big surprise and SANTA came. My little Ellie LOVED Santa this year and was always so excited to be the first one on his lap. Not to mention he was told at least three times that she wanted a fire truck for Christmas. We love Christmas parties.

The Young women's did a skit "the Grinch" and Erica and Amanda were the Mayor and his wife who... SOOO FUNNY!!!! And then I had to get a picture of Amanda and Dad... Do you see the resemblance?

And then there is my daughter telling Santa for the ONE THOUSANDTH time that she would life a "FIRE TRUCK"!!!! At least she is consistant and has asked for one EVERY time she has sat on Santa's lap!

Saying Farwell

Tonight was an exspeically hard night. Brad got set apart which was amazing. The Stake president gave him the most beautiful blessing and the best part was his dad and brothers got to stand in with him when he gave it. When Layne got home and was finally able to talk about it he said that was one of the most spiritual experiences that he has ever had in giving someone a blessing. When he was done he said "everything is going to be alright". When they were done setting Elder Bradley Leroy Darrington apart he asked if he could come over and hold his neices for awhile. Instantly I knew this was going to be hard but said okay. He came over and ate some pizza and enjoyed some time with his brothers and then it was time to say good bye and hold the girls and give them loves. He first got to feed Jayci a bottle and then let Ellie help him feed Jayci a bottle. I think he enoyed it and loved it when Ellie told him "I'll see ya in a while, love you Braddy" it was so sweet and I don't think she knows how long awhile is but hopfully for her and and the rest of the family sake it goes by REALLY QUICKLY!!!!

The hardest part was watching my husband say goodbye to his best friend. He has been so tough and has really tried to show no emotion but when he watched him with out daughters and then came over to say bye to him they just hugged and cried. It was so hard to watch but needed to be done. I never knew that sending a missionary was so hard but I hope that I NEVER have to go through this again. Having all girls will be fine with me... (j/k I would love a son but let me tell you, It's TOUGH)

Since I'm really late on posting. Brad has been gone for a week and 1 day. And I'm happy to report that he is doing great. He has a very stick to the rules companion that is in the missionary choir. So as Brad would say "Where he goes I have to go" and that means he's in the choir! LOVE IT!!!! For a kid that hates to sing being in the choir will be great for him. He said never say never cause eventually it will happen!

Christmas Eve with Brad

We wanted to have Christmas Eve with Brad before we left so we had it on Monday for family home evening since he was getting set apart the next day. As always we eat and play games and Brad's favorite part "OPEN PRESENTS." Ellie got her first Barbie and a "coool" Barbie Car. Jayci got Christmas Pajama's and Layne got a "How to Act when your sister is dating book" and a FMF tshirt. I got a lab top from Brad. I could not believe it. I swore a few times and cried and cried. He is the most unselfish kid when it comes the ones he loves. I was prepared for anything because Layne kept telling me just put your happy face on and just be happy he got you something. So when you hear that wouldn't you think oh great.... Well, Brad went all out this year and got his Mom, Dad and I computer and gave his old laptop to the girls. OH I WAS EXCITED!!!

I felt so bad for him this year because for a kid that LOVES christmas and gives me crap about it for 2 months before hand we had no idea what to buy him since he was leaving for two years and didn't really need anything to go. So I got him a journal because it's important to write down all of your thoughts and feelings RIGHT?! and in it I put hand prints of the girls and wrote "Where ever you go, We will go too. We are just a Hand print away" I think that he really liked it. After he read it that was when he had his first break down and the CRYING fest was on. He gave Ellie a big hug and cried with her and told her he was going to miss her. As a mother it was breaking my heart but I know it's for a good reason and will bless us. Brad has been her bestest buddy since she was one week old. After Brad's accident, him and Ellie spent ALOT of time together and they have been close ever since. Even though she is three she knows the ones that love her.
