Seven is Heaven
Happy Birthday to My Ellie June
My Ellie is quite the gal. I have noticed in the last 6 months that she went from a little girl to a little lady.
7 things that I LOVE about my Ellie are:
1. She is very protective of her sister.
(If Laney could speak she would tell you that she can get away with anything she wants and Ellie runs to her rescue 20 times a day!)
2. She hates to love school.
Ellie is a fantastic student. She comes home every night and does her own homework and hardly has any questions. She reads about 4-5 books a night and only wants to test on her library book because she doesn't want to go to the effort to see if any of our books at home would pass. She is OCD about making sure she spells her words correctly and on her time readings she has to beat the first time or we do it again. (I am so glad she is more like her Dad when it comes to school.)
3. She LOVES LOVES LOVES animals. Always has always will.
Grandpa Val got her a horse and she has renamed it Cherry. She loves to ride in the summer time and has gotten pretty good. She fell off this summer and landed in a huge pile of poo... to say the least she freaked more about the poo then the fall. Ellie loves to pet and love on any and all animals. Except nana and papas dogs. She's not a fan and yells at them every time we go over there.
4. She has a very tender heart.
She worries about everyone and hates to disappoint people. This is a far cry from my 5 year old Ellie who was mean and hadn't quite figured out RESPECT yet. If she hears me talking to Layne or anyone else about someone else's problems she worries about them too. She makes her self sick worrying about anything and everything that has to be done. She has grown to love Charlee and that is HUGE.... Ellie and I went to lunch and as we sat down to talk just her and I her first question to me was, "Mom, How do you get along with out me while I'm at school?" Like she's really worried how I am and wonder that I'm okay!
5. She is the best big sister in the world.
I say that all the time but it's so true. I wish I could video them all the time because Ellie is so genuine and sweet with her. Laney could come up and punch her in the face and she would not say a word about it. She doesn't fight back and gives into anything and everything Laney wants. She loves her sister that is in heaven and talks about her frequently the older she is getting the more we look through our blog books and talk about her. She remembers some things but just mainly says her name so Laney will know she had a big sister named Jayci.
6. She really is funny.
She says things to Layne and I all the time that make us laugh. She uses such BIG words that a 7 year old should never know how to use and she uses them correctly. She always has some come back to everything you have to say. I wish I was half as witty as she is.
7. She is my mini me.
It makes me laugh every time I hear her dad say. You are so much like your mother sometimes it's scary. He just hates it cause there is two of me and that is twice the opinions. She has to have a plan 24/7. I used to be like that until I realized how annoying it was. She's ask me and I'd ask Layne. Its funny how I've changed because I see things in myself through her that I don't like. Hopefully she'll figure that out when she has a little girl of her own someday that is exactly like her.

I love you! And am so proud of you! Continue to be the sweet polite girl that loves everyone. Always remember who you are and where you want to be.

Sealed for Time and All Eternity

Brad and Kassie tied the knot. We could not be any more excited to have a new aunt and sister in law in the family. The day was beautiful and super nice outside. I don't know if they could of picked a better day for a fall wedding. Laney and Ellie enjoyed playing outside, running all over the place. I tried to catch a few pictures of my girls but Laney was not a cooperative 1 year old. She was on zoom the entire time. After pictures were done we went to the Mandarin House for dinner. It was yummy!

My Wish
Just when I think Ellie doesn't talk about Jayci as much she brings a gem like this home! I wonder what she thinks about when she wishes for her sister! I know what I think about.... I wonder if it's the same?

I love where I live!
Photography has become my saving grace. I have felt out of sorts the last few months and the only thing that truly gets me excited is taking pictures. I am not great at it but I LOVE it. I love editing them and making them beautiful. Thank goodness my husband knows this and got me a new camera with a REALLY fancy lens. Hobbies are amazing.
But I have to say that not one of these is edited. I was just mesmerized by the lighting and it was done all on the same night in different areas.

I have to cut it soon so I figured I needed to take pictures to document how cute she is with it.
This little girl sure brings a lot of love and laughter into our home.
We cherish every second we have with her.
Kassie's Temple Day
Amongst all the crazy going on in the month of October, Kassie went through the temple. It was a beautiful day and I can't wait for next weekend when then get married.
We are so excited to have Kassie in the family. I love her to death and am looking forward to getting to know her better. She is so good for our Braddy and loves him unconditionally. Which is good because it's going to take someone amazing. (Love you Bud)

An emotional catch up
I realized today that I'm almost 3 months behind in my blogging/journaling. So that means for the next few days I'm going to try and get caught up! I would be so disappointed in myself if I didn't catch up and have the last few months in my blog books! So please bare with me!
But I I want to make note of what day today is! Today in jayci's life compared to laneys would of been my last full day with her! It's hard to believe that tomorrow laney will be 16 months and 22 days which is the exact day that we lost Jayci!
She has been so heavy on my heart! I find it harder right now because this is the way I remember my angel in heaven! I sat at dinner last night eating speggetti with my family and tears just welled in my eyes thinking about our last dinner with Jayci! It was the first time I ever let her have a fork and feed herself! Needless to say she wAs covered in noodles and we laughed! It was the last time we laughed together! We took pictures because she looked so ridiculous! Now those are some of my most cherished pictures of that sweet girl!
I have had so many thoughts running through my head lately, "How did we get here? Why us? Am I being strong enough? Am I being a good example to my kids? Am I doing the best I can to live as an eternal family?"
And the only thing I know to be true is that when I was married in the temple I made a promise to my Heavenly Father, my husband and future children and we would be together forever no matter what! I may struggle and have really bad days and say stupid things but I am human and make mistakes! Thank goodness for our savior Jesus Christ who atoned for my sins that I may repent and try harder the next day! I am not perfect but I will get up tomorrow and be better then I was today!
My husband told me today that I can not dwell on where Laney is compared to Jayci because she has a different plan! So tonight I'm just going to be grateful for all the good memories I have of my sweet angel and cherish every second I was able to hug her and kiss her and told her I loved her!
So here's to many more good memories with my family for cherishing every extra day I get to be with them!
