Boise Zoo
I'm so glad that we went up on Saturday before the big storm hit. It was so nice in Boise, by the time we got done Ellie wanted her jacket off and just wanted to walk around by herself. Since I haven't been to the boise Zoo in at least 10 years, it has grown a ton. There is plenty to see and lot's to do. Ellie loved ALL the animals when she got home she just wanted to go back and see the animals. Even when she got up the next morning she was trying to convince her dad to go back and see the animals. I guess sooner then later we are going to have to take her again.
Bowling in Boise
Last Saturday my brother went to boise to visit one of his friends so Ellie and I packed up and went to visit with him to. It's not very often that my family comes this close so when they do I like to go and visit them. My brother and I have gotten so close in the last few years and I just appreciate the respect and love that he shows towards me and Layne and how much he loves my little girl. Our first adventure of the day was eating at my favorite restraunt in the whole world (Red Robin) and then we were headed off to go bowling. Jacobs friend that went with us was Micah and her little boy Landon. Him and Ellie had such a good time and Ellie even figured out how to bowl by herself. She had tons of fun!

Ellie and Landon watching the ball go "SLOWLY" down the Lane.

First Softball Game of the Season
Yesterday was our first game of the season. To me it went better than can be expected after we got warmed up after the first inning. With it being our first game and having some girls that have never played before I think we did really well. In the first inning it was 9-0 but by the end we came back to only lose 10-13. So, for a first game that was awesome. To just see the confidence in the girls grow in that first game was worth it. Despite a minor injury and sending Shelby to the hospital by ambulance, we did pretty good. The second game was great practice for us. We won 18-6 but we were playing their JV team. A win is a win and I hope that they are very proud of themselves. I cannot wait to play GLENNS FERRY and see what we really got....
Kree Ragen Darrington
On Saturday night we had a few vistors come over to hang out with us. Ragen Kelsi and baby Kree came to visit since we haven't made it up to pokie to see them since Kree was born. Everyone has been sick since he was born so we have had to stay away and they were down this weekend so we were able to see him and spend time with them. Ellie was so excited to see baby Kree and get to hold him. I had told her to be very careful with his head and as you can see she was not going to let go of that head to save her life. She did so good with him and I am now VERY excited to have another baby because I know that Ellie is capable of helping and will want to help with everything. Only time will tell when that happens. And if you ask me the sooner the better but it's Heavenly Father's hands now. RIGHT?!
Layne was also having a good time with the new baby. He just couldn't help laughing and loving on him for quite a while.
She was always so careful with him. It was just fun to watch her and realized how big she really is getting.
What a sweet baby boy!!!
Twilight

I forgot to mention that as we were coming home from Twin Falls after going to the temple it was around 11:30 p.m. and we had to drive past Walmart. There were tons of cars there and Erica, Amanda, and I decided it would be fun to run to walmart after we were dropped off at the hospital to go get Erica's car. So I was there at 12:05 a.m. and was able to get a two-disc copy of Twilight. And Yes there were lines waiting for Twilight to be released. Even though I have to admit that I have seen the movie 5 times and really wasn't going to buy it until it was down in the $10.00 range decided since I was already there I couldn't miss out on a "MOMENT" in time. I have only scene the movie 1/2 through since I bought it but it's just the point that I have it right.

Ward Temple Day
Yesterday was the ward temple day. I don't want to admit this but it was the first time that we have been to the Twin Falls temple since the dedication. It was amazing and beautiful and felt like my own personal temple. I feel so blessed to have the temple so close and to take part in the blessing that come with going to the temple faithfully and honoring our covenants we have made there. I remember as a little girl singing "I love to see the temple" and now I'm a mom and get to sing it for my little girl. I hope that she will always cherish the message of that song and want to go there someday. We are so blessed in these latter days!
COMPOST anyone??
This is what Layne brought over our "little" pile of compost in. I thought it was funny. His first attempt at putting the compost on the garden was to drive the manure truck into the yard and just dump it. And with a few FAILED attempts he decided to get the wheel barrow and take it one load at a time.
Ellie was persistant in going outside to help. Notice the shorts (jamas) and work coat with her new Dora Crocs... What a kid.
Showing her dad what Tank did to her dollar store baseball. she was playing with him and she threw it and this is what came out of his mouth after he went and got it. She was SOOO mad.. She lectured the poor dog with the shaking of the finger and yelling "NO ANK BE NICE!!!"
But wouldn't you know it. They are still best buddies!

Bunnies FOR SALE
Teresa, Erica, and Amanda raise rabbits and have these cute little Easter bunnies for Sale. I think that they range in price from $8 to $20 depending on which kind you get. They have just regular bunnies and then they have floppy dwarfs. If you would like any for Easter or just to have for pets. Just leave me a note or feel free to call Teresa (654-2017).... Aren't they so cute!
First Weiny Roast of the Year
Every thursday it is Survivor night. Since survivor was not on due to March Madness we decided to have a little fun and have a weiny roast. It had been a beautiful day and we could not let it go to waste. I love this time of year all the spring things we get to do outside and Ellie gets to play outside once again. She is soooo Happy and always wants to be out there.
Ellie's First Girlfriend!
Since it is spring break we really haven't done to much but sit at home, cleaned and a little bit of homework here and there. Plus we had softball practice on mon, tues, and wed. Which have been beautiful days. Last year during spring break I think it was blowing the whole time not to mention we got a few inches of SNOW! But this year it was 55-65 the whole time. LOVED IT!!!! Since Carri's little girl is close to Ellie's age I asked her on tuesday if she would mind if Lexi came over and played for a few hours with Ellie on wednesday. She said that would be fine... I could not believe how excited Ellie was. It was the best potty training tool I could of asked for. I told her if she went on the potty then Lexi could come over and play. Since then we have been wearing big girl underwear with a few accidents here and there but for the most part we are potty trained... (except at night cause she insists on sleeping with a sippy still). Ellie kept telling me that they were going to play dollies and chicken (kitchen) and watch moobies (movies). And that is what they did. She couldn't of been happier and neither was I. Two great things happend on that day... Ellie had a "girl" friend over for the first time and also potty trained for the occasion! I"m a happy MOMMY!
Batter Eater
Last Sunday I was really in the mood to make cookies right after church. So while dinner was cooking I was getting busy with make chocolate chip cookies (Never tried Recipe before but it was AMAZING) so I could snack on them that day. Well, I had put the bowl in the sink with the mixer and went to go wash it and couldn't find it anywhere. I turn around and this little bandit had pushed the step stool up to the sink and stole it out of the bowl. So I turned around cause I could hear her talking to herself and this is where I found her. Under the table going to town on the mixer deal. She thought she was pretty funny!

Oh the things kids Say!!!
Today has been the first time that I realized that my daughter pays to much attention to the things around her. I don't even know where she comes up with this stuff or even knows who these people are. But when I was driving down the road today I was asking her everyones names... She says their name and then says "daanton" After the 10th person I asked her if her name was Ellie Darrington and she says "nop i anna tanna" Aka hannah montana. I just about died laughing. HOW THE HECK... does she know who Hannah Montana is? Second thing she said today: We were driving home from Val and Teresa's and I had to stop and get milk. I asked her if she wanted a treat, a bug juice etc.... and she said "Nop I hav PEPSI" What!!!! Me and Layne looked at eachother and just busted a gut. It's so funny how she picks up on everything. I personally think that she is too smart for her own britches. And this is probably the first of many cute things Ellie says... (don't forget this is my journal so i'll probably post about things like this alot)

Happy 4th Anniversary
As I was sitting down to wish Layne a "Happy Anniversary" I got this text message from him. "Happy Anniversary I love u and thank u for being a great wife and the best mom- sorry i don't have anything to give other than all the love my heart can give- have a good day i love you" I am so thankful for him and all the hard work that he does for Ellie and I. I always tell him I don't have to have anything other then him and sometimes just telling me is just enough. I am so greatful for the wonderful dad that he is to Ellie. They are best friends and no one can or will ever come between them. He is the first thing in the morning that she asks for and the last before she goes to bed. He plays with her and makes her happy when ever he is home with her. That last couple of days when I have been sick and she has been sick he is the one that was up all night with her so I could sleep. Then he goes to work all day. I think that is pretty amazing. I have never asked him to stay up with her. I feel as a stay at home mom that is my job and I do it happy and willingly. But for him to just do it was so nice. I love him more then life itself and am so greatful that I have eternity to spend with him. I LOVE YOU LAYNE.... ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT!!!
Best Friends and Eternal CompanionsI pretty much LOVE this picture of him.
Playing Dress up Princess with Ellie. Gotta Love it!
What Goes Around, Comes Around
Last week was one that was deffinately never ending. On Monday we started softball practice and it was so beautiful outside. Giving me just a little touch of Spring Fever. I was so excited to let Ellie play out in the yard and have some peace and quiet in the house. But that didn't last long by wednesday it was FREEZING outside and that meant back in the house we went. It was so cold outside that we had to pracitce softball in the gym on friday. Not only was it freezing but we also ended up with about 3 inches of snow. Which is very pretty and peaceful but doesn't really help us out any in the softball department at all. Well, Friday my cousin Crystal called and asked if I wanted to play in a volleyball tourney with her and some of her friends. Which I was kinda skeptical about cause I haven't played on a team in over a year so I was a little rusty. But it ended up we got second in our bracket and had a great time. But I was so stinking sore and tired I was hardly able to move at all on sunday. Not only was I tired and sore but Ellie and I had a little bit of the flu bug and were down and out for the count. We ended up taking Ellie to the ER on sunday because she had blood draining out of her ears and I was worried that she may have busted an ear drum. Well, it ended up being just a whole lot of draining to go along with the little bit of a cold that she was getting. So we had another long night on Sunday with neither of us not feeling very good. Well, I woke up and couldn't swallow a thing on Monday. I looked in the back of my throat and knew I had strep something feirce when all I could see were white puss pockets. Well, I went to the doctor and he asked me if I wanted to be taken out back and put our of my misery and I was quick to answer PLEASE!!!! But I got on some Amoxicilin and am doing much much much better today. It was a long week and I think that I'm just ready for spring break or at least spring weather.
She was so excited to finally pull her car out of the shed and "DRIVE"Her and Tank are going to get in ALOT of trouble this summer. I have already discovered that where Ellie is Tank is and where Tank wanders Ellie is going to wander with him. I am so glad to have him though. He is such a sweet well mannered dog.

A Quarter of a Century
Layne is 25. We had a great day. I had asked Layne what he wanted for his birthday and he told me he wanted his pickup cleaned out, vacuumed and all. So when I got out to look at the pickup and saw how dirty it was I wished I would of just bought him something instead of asking him what "HE" wanted. It was disgusting! I though how am I ever going to get this clean. Well, I got started and was using a screw driver to clean the dried mud off of his pedals and I set it down of one second and lost it. I looked every where and couldn't find it so I just figured that it was something that I do. Set something down and can't find it for 2 or 3 days. Well I didn't think anything of it and kept vacuuming. Then I realized my Dyson wasn't working right and asked Layne to come over and look at it. Well he started taking it apart and wouldn't you know it he found the screw driver in the vacuum cleaner. No WONDER it wasn't working right. LOL So when I finished with that I headed in to start making lunch and jumped into the shower. Well as I was getting out and drying my hair I must of knocked a cough syrup bottle into to the toilet and flushed it. I actually started flushing and then bumped it in. Well the stinking thing went down. So I had to call Layne in "AGAIN" to have him help me get it out. Well I could reach my hand up in there and feel it so I knew it wasn't going to go down. Well we ended up having to remove the toilet. So Layne could push a hanger in the bottom of the toilet to wiggle the bottle and I had my armed reached as far as I could go and eventually we got it out. Let me tell you , I was laughing so hard on the inside. Can you just picture me with my arm shoved in the toilet and Layne pushing on the other end Gagging cause he could see POOP. During the process Layne was standing up and I was laying on the floor with his bum right above my head with the toilet laying on it's side. I wish I would of got a picture, but I didn't want to say anything cause Layne was already just a TAD bit irritated. Oh well, I ended up making his favorite dinner of Cheddar loaves and baked potatoes and a turtle cake. it was yummy and we overall had a great day. I just want my husband to know how much I love him and am looking forward to spending the next 25 years together. Thanks for being my best friend and my eternal companion.
Rylee Kae
Last week we had Keegan, Rylee, and Garrett over for awhile to play and I had to snap a few pictures of that cute little girl...

Getting ready for church.
I curled Ellies hair this morning and put a cute flower in it. She was wearing a new dress with her boots. I told her she looked rockin. She says "yeah i'm rockin" I tried to get her to put her coat on but she said "no mom I want to show dad how fashionable I am" Seriously what three year old talks like that.

Setting the scene: Ellie walks out of my room with just a t shirt on. I ask her. Where are your pants. She says: Mom their wet! well why or they wet. With her hand on her hip and shaking her finger at me she says "Because moder I had an Asserdent"

Ellie (look of disgust) "Dad go throw it in the gabage that is DISGUSING"
So Layne gets up and washes his hands.
(I about peed my pants laughing)
