Ellie's New Trick

With potty training going so well with Ellie I've had to teach her to go to the bathroom outside in the grass. Sometimes at softball practice they lock the door on us so she has to go outside. Well the other day Layne was outside changing the oil in his motor cycle and Ellie told him she needed to go potty. Well he told her to wait till mommy came out so I could take her in cause he was covered in oil. Well, by the time he got back to her she was already sitting in the grass with her pants and panites down to her ankles going potty. He could no believe it. We had just cut the grass so she ended up with grass in every crevasis on her bumb but it was such a good trick and she didn't got potty in her panties. Now Layne has no more excuses not to take her with him..... RIGHT???

SuperCross - Salt Lake City

Almost every year that I have been married to Layne we have made it to a Supercross somewhere. This year we went to Salt Lake and had an amazing time. I love going to the races. It's becoming something that I look forward to every year. It just happend that this year the points were so close and there was so much going on there. All the Darrington's went except Tim and Jana's family. We all stayed in the same hotel and took up half the floor. It was so fun being all together and getting to enjoy eachother company for a whole weekend. If fun having a close family exspeically when it's something we all enjoy!

Braden was sitting up behind us and was having such an amaing time. I just love this kid and had to catch him in all the excitment. Where's Braden?

UltraSound- Revelations

On Wednesday, I went to get an ultrasound, we were trying to figure out dates and size of the baby. Well, when I got in there I was SHOCKED about how small the little tiger was. The baby was measuring 8 weeks which has pushed my due date back to December 2nd. I'm excited to know that the baby isn't due till December. I was actually hoping for that so that didn't bother me the most. What was the most shocking is that the ultrasound revealed that I was pregnant with twins and had miscarried one of them. At first it was shocking but now I know it was a blessing from Heavenly Father. He knows me and he knows my strengths and weaknesses so I know he was looking out for me on this one. And another thing the ultrasound showed is that the placenta attached itself to the front of my uterus. So the doctor says it's more then likely going to be ALL baby out front. (GREAT)I was excited to see the baby's heart beat and looking forward to seeing what is to come weather we have a boy or a girl. I'll be happy with either one. So from the ultrasound Baby #2 is DUE December 2, 2009.

Enjoying her Ice Cream Cone

On our way home from Shoshone Falls we decided to stop and get a treat. And as you can see Ellie really enjoyed it but she fell asleep right in the middle of it. It was so cute!

Shoshone Falls

On friday Layne and I decided we needed some family time and since it was stake conference (which I went to then we left) We would take advantage of a beautiful day and go see the Shoshone Falls. I think everyone else is the area had the same idea. We ended up waiting in line for longer then we were there but it was worth it. I love the shoshone falls they were fun and beautiful today. Ellie loved them to. Except she was so mad because there wasn't a baby jaguar there. She has this Dora epsiode that has a baby jaguar stranded about a waterfall. So when she heard we were going to a waterfall that is all she could talk about was the baby jaguar. Boy was she so disappointed when she realized there wasn't going to be one there. Well, we enjoyed out picnic and family time. It was a wonderful day. We even got to spend a little time with Grandma and Grandpa Nielsen. They were also excited to hear about our news. And of course Ellie was the one to tell them she is going to have "a baby brothor sistor."
The line waiting to go down to the Falls. It started up at the church at the top of the hill.
watching the water. She wanted to go play so bad but I just wasn't letting her....

Darrington Family Surprise

I had found out that I was expecting on the night before April first. I was talking ont the phone to Kenna and for some reason we were talking about me having another one or if I were pregnant yet or something to that extent and I was telling her no and so on... Well, when I got off the phone with her I had noticed that my chest was hurting way more then normal and I thought it was just cause I had just finished my cycle. Well, I was curious and thought that is so weird so I went and took a pregnancy test and wouldn't you know it the little bugger said positive I was so confused and excited. I went and showed Layne and he was like what the hell is that. And I said a positive pregnancy test. Well he got a sick look on his face and said why did you have to show me that right before bed. There is no way i'm going to sleep now. Well, I didn't say anything about it and the next morning I took one again just to see if it still said the same thing well wouldn't you know it. It was.... Hurray!!!! Well, I have been deathly sick with this little one whom which I am calling tiger because he/she is reaking havoc on my life and skin. I haven't left the toilet some days and am lucky to get Ellie dressed and fed. Well, I figured everyone was going to catch on sooner or later because I wasn't feeling good at all and just figured the family would be getting curious sooner or later. Well, Wednesday the 15th I was talking to Teresa about not feeling good and she was like why is there a reason and then I told her. Well, she was already planning on having a weiney roast on friday night and it just happened to be on my first doctors appt So since I had gone to the doctor I figured it was time to tell everyone. So ahile back I had bought Ellie a "big sister" shirt just in case someday I would be able to use it to tell everyone. Well, I had her put the shirt on and had taped tape on their that read "on November 13". So when everyone was standing around after saying the prayer I had asked Ellie to come over and show her Aunts her new Shrit. They had no idea what was about to hit them. But when she opened up her jacket Ellie said "big sistow" And the girls were so confused they looked up at me and I said keep reading and then they saw the November 13th and were so excited. I am looking forward to baby #2 It will be good for our family and will maybe give Ellie a sense of what it's like to have to share and not be the boss all the time. But most of all I'm excited to see her be a big sister. As much as that kid loves babies I know I'll have the best helper on my hands. Being a Mom is SO REWARDING!
Showing the girls her "big sistow" shirt

Best friends. The way we always are.
I love moments like this when grandpa gets on the tramp and lets Ellie run all over him. She loves her papa.

That Time of Year Again!

Well it's that time of year again, Nana and Papa pulled out the trampoline. Ellie was so excited to "jumpa jump" she could harldly stand her self. I think the majority of the time that we are over there she is on that tramp going to town. I cannot believe the improvment that she has made since last year. I mean seriously check out those jumping skills! I told Layne the other day that we need to get something for her to keep her in the yard and this might be our next purchase. The kid loves to be outside and I don't know how I'll ever keep her in the yard this summer with out one. Mark my words if we set it up the way I want to, then she'll have a jumping companion by the name of TANK and he deffinately giver her a run for her money!

Watching her grow up is hard to do.

Going Private

No rhyme or reason it's just time. I've been wanting to do it forever and now the time has come. This is a journal for me and so sometimes I'll post things I don't want the whole world to know, so I figure now is as good as time as any.

So if you want to keep up with the chaos, send me an email so I can invite you to view the blog!
kdarrington@yahoo.com It will be private as of May 1st!

I have family members that aren't bloggers that check on us once in awhile so here's how it works- you have to get a Google account by going to google.com and at the top it says sign in or something like that, that is where you set up your google account. (free, pretty fast and easy) and then email me with your email address if I don't already have it. Then I'll send you back an email when I close the blog from public view and that email has a link that takes you to my blog once your signed in with your Google account. You'll just have to sign in with google to get on after that."

Very Observant

I just have a funny story about miss Ellie. Well she is very into poking me in the chest. And with out thinking I tell her that those are mommies boobs and it hurts mommy when she pokes me there. Well, yesterday I was getting dressed and Ellie pipes up with "Mommy you putting you boobs on" (but really it was my bra). I about died of laughter she asked as serious as Ellie can ask a question and was so mad at me when I started laughing. I couldn't even respond. I guess I'll just have to not be so straight forward with her or else she will say what ever I tell her something is. Gotta love innocent two year olds.

Easter Bunny Treats

The Easter bunny came to visit and brought Ellie a DORA Magna-sketch. She had a princess one and it broke. Thank goodness the Easter bunny knew her well enough that she needed another one. And of course "M e M's" as Ellie would call them there her favorite treat in the whole world.

Darrington Easter Egg Hunt Cont...

Darrington Easter Egg Hunt

On saturday we had the annual Darrington Easter Egg Hunt. I was so excited to take Ellie this year because she is older and I thought she would really get into it. Well she had a great time finding the eggs, her dad carried the bucket while she found the eggs. Once she saw the other kids doing it she figured she needed to get right in there and help. As I followed along with the camera snapping only a few hundred pictures It was over. I love watching the kids find the eggs there is typically about 20 boys and 5 girls out hunting the eggs. the oldest one this year was I believe eight and the youngest was 6 months with over 500 eggs to find we all got plenty. I got one of the best compliments about Ellie. As all the kids were getting rambuntious and running wild waiting to find the eggs Ellie was just standing there patiently waiting to go outside and hunt for her eggs. Well, Jack D. (cousin didn't probably realize he was giving me a compliment said) "look at all those crazy kids and then there is Ellie standing right in the middle quietly waiting to go outside". I know to most people that really wouldn't mean much but when your a mom like me who really pushes her to mind and act accordingly it meant alot to me. She was great and I hope someday she'll appreciate me for trying to teach her to have good manners!

Enrichment Activity

This is the Easter Wreath that we made. I think that they turned out so cute. Exspecially since Braden gave me the idea to add different colors of grass to the wreath. Mine was the only one with different colors and I personally think the most unique. Thanks Brade your the best.

And the smore treat jar. Ellie has been salivating at the mouth to get to those M & M's. So I think I'm going to make the bars so we can both enjoy them today.

The Recipe for the Easter S'mores
In the Jar:
1 Package of Graham Crackers (in a baggie, crunched)
8 peep marshmallows
and 1 - 1 1/2 cups of Easter M&Ms

On the Card:
Empty the contents of jar into a bowl. Snip the bunnies into pieces with kitchen shears. Mix Well.
Melt 1/2 cup of butter and 1 tsp. vanilla. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well. Pat into a 9"square pan.

How cute and easy are these....

Coloring Easter Eggs

A few nights ago I was laying in bed thinking "We haven't colored easter eggs with ellie, I think that she would really enjoy it" So I talked Layne into picking up some dye at the store yesterday and last night we went to work. As we were getting things ready Ellie was so excited to hold the eggies. Well as we were putting in the chips to dye the eggs it was taking forever and ellie decided she was done. she says to us "I done" and preceeds to get down. Well I show her what to do with the eggs by dumping them in the water and she thought that was so cool. We let her put the eggs in and then also take them out with a spoon. after the first batch was dyed we proceeded to stick stickers all over them and she enjoyed that too. Overall it was a fun experience that we did as a family. I love that Ellie is getting big enough to do fun projects with and enjoy it. And thanks to her Daddy for being patient and working with her. I LOVE FAMILY TIME!!!!

Our Sunday Adventure

On General Conference weekend we typically record conference and head out on an adventure as a family. Most the time it is a drive some where that we never have been. This year we headed to Windover, NV.
Our intentions were to leave at 9:30 or 10:00 but we left at 10:30 and were headed to oakley. I forgot to mention that when we do go on our adventures it's always through back country on dirt roads. As Layne would say were seeing "New Country". Anyways we headed through Oakley to Grouse Creek. Along side the roade we came across a flock of wild turkeys. For me it was awesome cause in Orofino that is just a given but down in southern Idaho I never get to see that so I was really excited. When we were about a half hour from Grouse Creek Ellie decided to make her self known and threw up EVERYWHERE.... Not just once but like four times. She has been fighting the cold and when she fights that we fight her gagging on her snot running down the back of her throat and that is exactly what happend. well, we pulled her out of the pickup got her cleaned up and stripped. Thank goodness she decided to do this right by a creek. So as layne was dealing with her and the pickup I was down at the creek washing her cloths out. It was freezing and all I could think was those POOR Pioneer women had to wash their cloths like this ALL the time. I have a new appreciation for them since I couldn't feel my hands for 10 minutes. After we got her cleaned up we were on the road again. And Brad decided to get in with us cause Kelly couldn't take the thought of throw up even existing. So, 2 hours through dirt roads we finally made it to Pavement. Another hour and a half and we were at Windover. It was amazing there is nothing for miles and hours and when we drove over this hill there was a little town like Jackpot. A happening Casino town. Well, Everyone knows that when you go to a Casino you have to eat and so we ate at the buffet. Before we ate thank goodness we found a family dollar so I could buy Ellie a new outfit. After we were down eating we went out to the Salt Flatts. They were so awesome. We had such a good time and even did a little bit of racing. Ellie just ran and ran and even had to try the salt right along with her dad. Over all it was a fun day. We drove 3.5 hours there and 3.5 hours home. If we ever go there again which we are planning on doing. It will be a stay the night and then come home the next day.

Ellie Funnies

"Conversation with Granny June"

Granny get's out of the car and says "I need to use the rest room."

Ellie says "You need to go potty?"

Granny "Yes"

Ellie says "Okay I'll take you."

(Granny could not even tell me the story because she was laughing to hard. I thought it was so cute she wanted to help.)

"Sacrament Meeting 08/09/08"

Ellie "Mom where is your bag"

Dad "Do you want a snack?"

Ellie "Yeah" Cough Cough Cough
Dad preceeds to get her a treat but she started gaging a little bit. Chokes spits up a little bit, and Layne catches it in his hand.
Ellie (look of disgust) "Dad go throw it in the gabage that is DISGUSING"
So Layne gets up and washes his hands.
(I about peed my pants laughing)

"This Morning 08/18/09"

I was in the kitchen making hot chocolate. Which I LOVE. Ellie decides she wants some to. But I was watching my TV show and told her to wait a minute. She was not going for that so she grabbed my arm and says "Pease Mom your the best". I love it when she says that, how can you tell her to hold on then?!

"On our way home from Twin. 8/22/09"

Ellie was whinny in the back seat and Layne started to mimic her and she got really mad and said. "Dad quit being a whiner."

"Tonight sitting on my lap in the Kitchen 9-08-09"

Ellie: I wanna get married

Mom: dieing of laughter "what did you say"

Ellie: I wanna get married

Dad: Not till your thirty!

Ellie: Ok

10/05/09

All of us playing make believe after dinner?!

Ellie: Mom you be Ellie, I'll be Dad and Dad be mommy because you have a Belly like mommy... (I laughed so hard)

So she wanted some dinner and said while deepening her voice "Darlin bring me some dinner"

We were laughing way to hard to keep playing... She was on one that night

12/02/09

After bringing Jayci home from the hospital.

Ellie: Mom why is Jayci eating your boob?(said so disgustedly)

Mom: because that is how she gets her food.

Ellie: Can she eat my boob?

01/24/2010

Getting ready for church.

I curled Ellies hair this morning and put a cute flower in it. She was wearing a new dress with her boots. I told her she looked rockin. She says "yeah i'm rockin" I tried to get her to put her coat on but she said "no mom I want to show dad how fashionable I am" Seriously what three year old talks like that.
02/08/10
Setting the scene: Ellie walks out of my room with just a t shirt on. I ask her. Where are your pants. She says: Mom their wet! well why or they wet. With her hand on her hip and shaking her finger at me she says "Because moder I had an Asserdent"
