Carving Pumpkins

As soon as we got home from the pumpkin patch we carved our pumpkins. It was such a fun day to spend as a family.  I am pretty lucky to say they are all mine!

Pumpkin Patch

I have always taken the girls to the pumpkin patch every year. Usually Layne is in harvest and cannot go with us. So we were happy to have our Daddy with us. They got done a week earlier then usual so it's nice to be able to do the things we like to do during October as a family.  I'm just glad I held out long enough for him to go with us.

I sure love these two scarecrows with Laney in the background!

At this particular pumpkin patch they have a corn maze for little kids. Layne loved it because he is so claustrophobic that he could see over the corn and not feel trapped. She was always one step ahead of us.

Ellie and Dad chatting a hundred miles an hour.

Which way do we go?

Carrying Laney's pumpkin for her.

She sure can be sweet sometimes. But the Sassy is a little strong these days!

Proof I was there to!

She wanted to be a scary spider. bahahaha

Halloween Surprise

(Laney and her cute monster!)
On Saturday we came home to a package on the doorstep. My Mom always sends my kids things for the holidays so we could almmost bet it was from her. We love our holiday packages abd treats. Ellie ripped right into it and was instantly in love with the monster. Except it wasn't for her. She did decide that Laney would share, so nice of her to do that. :) Thanks for the treat Grandma we loved it all!  And the birthday present inside is sitting on the piano TORTURING Ellie until saturday! I love it. (Mean Mom).
My eldest is going to be six on saturday. I AM GETTING OLD!!!

Laney's First Visit

Yesterday was Jayci's 18th month anniversary for being gone. So I went to the grocery store today and got her some flowers. On our way home from tumbling we stopped at Jayci's Place (aka the cemetery) and introduced Laney to her sister. I wanted to get her out there before it got to cold so I figured today was the perfect opportunity.

It's so bittersweet to take a picture of my girls this way.  But I am so thankful that I put Jayci's picture on her headstone. It means so much more to go visit when I can have all of my girls in one place. I see many more photo opportunities  through out my life getting all of my kids together. It just makes it that much better seeing Jayci's beautiful face every time.

I love that her picture is unchanging, constant. I love that She'll be herself and I will get that opportunity to watch her grow just as I will with my other kids.  I find that a beautiful and comforting thought. That Heavenly Father loved us enough to give us that opportunity to raise our angel child just as he has with our children her on earth. As long as we live worthily of these promises we have made.

I can see Heaven in your eyes....

Lately I look at Laney and find that something is off... I hold her in my arms and cry thinking something is wrong. But I have found out that nothing is wrong at all....
This morning as I was watching her and she was gooing and smiling at me, I saw it.... I saw Heaven. I just looked into her blue eyes this morning and felt her sister. I felt her near. It was as if the heavens had just opened and I could feel her soul.  I knew she was sitting with us.  Laney was looking up at Jayci's picture above the chair and smiled as if she just got the message to me. It may sound completely crazy but it could not be more real.  It's so hard to even put in to words what I felt. But I know that Laney is here to be our light and bring happiness into our home. To remind us how thin the vail truly is.  And that my family is a forever family!

Sisters!

Nothing brings a smile to my face more then seeing these two love on eachother.
I love that Laney is always checking her sister out and lets her man handle her all the time.
Ellie is back to being Ellie again, we still talk about Jayci but it's not as often. Her focus is her baby sister and as long as she never forgets Jayci I'm okay with it. It's different for her as it is for Layne and I! As parents our hearts will always ache for her until we are together again!

I love my girls!!!

Beautiful Sunrise

The other morning I was up with the baby when I looked out the window and saw this... Can you believe how lucky I am to get to see these kind of sunrises all the time. It what makes this place home. I LOVE IT!!!

When I turned around from taking these pictures I saw this.... My poor husband was greeted with a flat tire.  Which in turn led him into getting new ones. It's great to be a farmer!

Teeny Tiny baby with Extra Long Fingers

I just wanted to document Laney's Fingers as a baby. I don't think these pictures do them justice but they are so ridiculously long. It goggles my mind every day. She definitely inherited them from the Nielsen side of the family. But they are just amazing. I love when she just wraps her hand around my finger and it wraps all the way around. And it's super creeper when she's wrapped up in a blanket and her comes these creepy crawler fingers out, almost reminds me of thing. Anyways she is so cute and definitely did not get those bad boys from her Mom!

Ellie Funnies

"Conversation with Granny June"

Granny get's out of the car and says "I need to use the rest room."

Ellie says "You need to go potty?"

Granny "Yes"

Ellie says "Okay I'll take you."

(Granny could not even tell me the story because she was laughing to hard. I thought it was so cute she wanted to help.)

"Sacrament Meeting 08/09/08"

Ellie "Mom where is your bag"

Dad "Do you want a snack?"

Ellie "Yeah" Cough Cough Cough
Dad preceeds to get her a treat but she started gaging a little bit. Chokes spits up a little bit, and Layne catches it in his hand.
Ellie (look of disgust) "Dad go throw it in the gabage that is DISGUSING"
So Layne gets up and washes his hands.
(I about peed my pants laughing)

"This Morning 08/18/09"

I was in the kitchen making hot chocolate. Which I LOVE. Ellie decides she wants some to. But I was watching my TV show and told her to wait a minute. She was not going for that so she grabbed my arm and says "Pease Mom your the best". I love it when she says that, how can you tell her to hold on then?!

"On our way home from Twin. 8/22/09"

Ellie was whinny in the back seat and Layne started to mimic her and she got really mad and said. "Dad quit being a whiner."

"Tonight sitting on my lap in the Kitchen 9-08-09"

Ellie: I wanna get married

Mom: dieing of laughter "what did you say"

Ellie: I wanna get married

Dad: Not till your thirty!

Ellie: Ok

10/05/09

All of us playing make believe after dinner?!

Ellie: Mom you be Ellie, I'll be Dad and Dad be mommy because you have a Belly like mommy... (I laughed so hard)

So she wanted some dinner and said while deepening her voice "Darlin bring me some dinner"

We were laughing way to hard to keep playing... She was on one that night

12/02/09

After bringing Jayci home from the hospital.

Ellie: Mom why is Jayci eating your boob?(said so disgustedly)

Mom: because that is how she gets her food.

Ellie: Can she eat my boob?

01/24/2010

Getting ready for church.

I curled Ellies hair this morning and put a cute flower in it. She was wearing a new dress with her boots. I told her she looked rockin. She says "yeah i'm rockin" I tried to get her to put her coat on but she said "no mom I want to show dad how fashionable I am" Seriously what three year old talks like that.
02/08/10
Setting the scene: Ellie walks out of my room with just a t shirt on. I ask her. Where are your pants. She says: Mom their wet! well why or they wet. With her hand on her hip and shaking her finger at me she says "Because moder I had an Asserdent"
